TIME Return To Sponsor Juvenile

In recent years TIME Greyhound Nutrition have become one of the most prolific sponsors of greyhound racing on both sides of the Irish Sea so it is perhaps no surprise to see them step forward and back the Juvenile for the second year running, although this time the winner will receive a record £10,000.

The hugely valuable one-off invitation is set to be one of the most talked about races of the year with Irish Derby champion Bockos Diamond taking on the best the UK has to offer. The recent news that 2024 Greyhound of the Year Wicky Ned will be given the chance to run in the Juvenile adds further spice and intrigue to what was already set to be a special contest.

The TIME Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile is scheduled for Sunday, April 20th. It just happens to be Easter Sunday and what a treat it should offer those that can get to Towcester.

Once again, we must take the opportunity to thank John Fox and Willie Rigney and all involved in TIME Greyhound Nutrition for their generous sponsorship of one of the great races on the calendar.

The Juvenile was first run in 1957 as the Greyhound Express Merit Puppy Trophy but was renamed the Juvenile in 1964. It has been won by some incredible greyhounds through the years but only the great bitch Dolores Rocket went on to Derby glory after winning the Juvenile.

A truly special performer for Herbert White and his three brothers, all decorators from Surrey, she won  the Puppy Oaks, the Sporting Life Puppy Championship and the Juvenile in 1970 before returning the following year to win both the Derby and St Leger, establishing herself as one of the greatest to ever race in the process.

Perhaps this year’s winner will go on to Derby glory later in the summer.
