SUPER SUNDAY – a date for the diary

SUNDAY, APRIL 20th

It’s official! Following the announcement that Betgoodwin and the JR Racing Syndicate will sponsor the Maiden Derby, alongside TIME Greyhound Nutrition’s continued support of the Juvenile, we’re thrilled to confirm that both races will feature as part of an electrifying Super Sunday at Towcester on April 20th.

The Betgoodwin and JR Racing Maiden Derby kicks off on Sunday, April 6th, and anticipation is already building, with several highly promising greyhounds tipped as potential contenders.

History has shown just how prestigious this event can be—most notably in 2021, when Thorn Falcon won the Maiden Derby before securing Derby glory less than two months later. The outstanding son of former Derby champion Dorotas Wildcat led home a remarkable one-two for trainer Patrick Janssens.

Meanwhile, the TIME Greyhound Nutrition Juvenile promises to showcase some of the best greyhounds in the world. The final field for this renowned invitational won’t be confirmed until race week, but a blockbuster showdown is already on the cards, with Irish Derby champion Bockos Diamond and Greyhound of the Year Wicky Ned both set to compete.

Adding even more depth to the lineup, Nottingham Puppy Classic winner and Irish Derby semi-finalist March On Freddie—runner-up in Saturday’s ARC Kent Plate final at Central Park—is expected to join his litter brother, Bockos Diamond. The Kent Plate winner, Proper Heiress, is also under serious consideration, according to connections. With previous Category 1 victories in the Coral Olympic at Hove and the Winter Derby at Monmore, he is now a three-time major champion.

With this stellar quartet and a few more stars in the mix, this race has all the makings of an instant classic—one that could define the year.

Yes all roads lead to Towcester on Sunday, April 20th.  Bring on Super Sunday!
