Star Sports English Greyhound Derby

The race is ON!

The Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious race in the world of greyhound racing. It possesses a rich history, with the inaugural competition dating all the way back to 1927. While it may have a rich history, it also possesses a very bright future at its new home of Towcester Racecourse.

On Saturday 1st July 2017, six greyhounds lined up chasing a winner’s prize of £175,000, making it the richest greyhound competition in the world. It took the winner Astute Missile 28.92 seconds to complete the 500m course at Towcester which equates to over £6,000 per second.

Come along in 2018 for another exhilarating set of rounds, and the Grand Final on Saturday 2nd June.
