Wuheida lights up Puppy Derby

#ECCPuppyDerby action continued at Towcester on Saturday night and it failed to disappoint, giving us four quarter-finals of nail biting and exciting action to enjoy.

It may have been the last heat of the night but it was worth the wait for connections of Wuheida.

The ante-post 50/1 shot continued his winning ways round the Towcester track stopping the clock in a smoking 29.28 to take victory in heat four.

After taking the lead coming off the second bend it was never in doubt for this Phil Simmonds trained greyhound who caught the eye of many of the watching spectators. Showing improvement with every run, how far can this greyhound go?

Affleck Bolt had every chance in behind and came up with a second placed finish while the ante-post favourite, the very lightly raced Roxholme Poppy continues to improve to qualify in behind.

Innocent Times kicked off proceedings for Irish trainer Brendan Matthews, the 8/1 shot taking the first heat in 29.47 taking things up early doors and continuing strongly. The Kevin Hutton duo of Headford Kev and Magical Bale finishing in second and third respectively to book their place in the semi-finals.

Honest Robber stole the show in heat two. The Mark Wallis trained greyhound recorded a trap to line victory to see off Jovial Monk and Prize Fighter to record a Towcester trained 1-2-3. Last week’s heat winner Forest Mike missing out in fourth place.

Elaine Parker’s Lightfoot King backed up last week’s impressive heat victory with another strong performance to secure the victory in heat three, 8/1 shot Kilcree Diamond qualifying in second with last week’s fastest greyhound Sporting Dave also going through.

Don’t forget it is FREE ENTRY for the semi-finals on Saturday 11th November and for the final on Wednesday 15th November. If you can’t make it you can watch the FREE streaming on https://m.facebook.com/TowcesterGreyhounds/
