Our most common customer enquiries

Enter the Empress Stand (number 6 on the Course Overview) ground floor reception foyer and proceed to the desk with the booking name. The staff will tell you where to go from there.
We do recommend booking in advance if you wish to dine in one of our restaurants. Packages start from £39.50pp at the greyhound meetings and £55.00pp at horse racing meetings.

Bar 4000 is open to the public, and is located on the ground floor of the Empress Stand where an indoor BBQ is available selling a range of hand held snacks and beverages.

3 course meals are available in the restaurant. The menu for this changes with the season. You can find the menu on our Restaurant page.

There is also an indoor BBQ area in the bar.

Private betting and bar facility are direct to your table in the restaurant, as well as full waiter service.
We have the Birthday Celebration Package on our Promotions page for £55. This package contains a bottle of Prosecco, helium balloon, chocolate Birthday cake with candles and a big screen Birthday message.

We can provide a cake by itself for £10 if desired. You can choose between a chocolate cake, or if you prefer a Victoria sponge cake.

We do not allow any items of food or drink, including picnics, to be brought into the racecourse enclosures. Refreshments and beverages can be purchased from outlets within the site.

The minimum number of guests allowed in a VIP box is 20, the maximum is 70 with a 3 course meal.

For the buffet, the maximum number of guests is 50.

For all meetings you will be on a private table unless specified upon booking. This will occur for small parties at horse racing in particular.

We recommend early booking for horse racing and special events i.e. Greyhound Derby, Christmas Parties.

Our greyhound restaurant is very busy. We recommend that you book a minimum of 2 weeks in advance or, to guarantee the seats you want we recommend booking 2 months in advance.

Gates open at 6pm.
All areas are operational from 6:30pm.
Table/Room available all night from 6.30pm for customers use.
Racing starts at 7.15pm to 10:30pm.
Bar closes 30 minutes after last race is wrapped up.
Horse racing meetings: Gates open two hours before the first scheduled race time. Greyhound racing meetings: Gates open one and a half hours before the first scheduled race time.
The general office is open Monday to Saturday from 9am till 5:30pm.

The bar is fully available from 6pm.

Yes, for outside use only and is brought at your own risk.
Absolutely. Children are very welcome and under 16s get in free on charged meetings. There is a baby changing area within the 1st floor of the Empress Stand and 1st floor of the Grace Stand.

Please be aware this is a facility with gambling and drinking on-site. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

We do not allow dogs and pets into the racecourse enclosure (except guide dogs). This is for the health and safety of the horses and greyhounds.

Towcester Racecourse is located on the A5, just south of Towcester. The nearest train and bus stations are Milton Keynes (11 miles) and Northampton (11 miles). Please head to the designated stand your party is booked into. Alternatively you can make your way to the Empress Stand (number 6 on the Course Overview) ground floor reception foyer and you will be directed where to go.

For all BAR4000 please make your way to the Empress Stand reception where your package will be ready for collection.

We have car parking for over 1500 cars, disabled parking and parking for up to 50 coaches. If you have any special requirements please let the marshall know and he will direct you to the most suitable area.
There is no charge for car parking. We have plenty of on-site parking and our car parking marshalls will direct you on arrival.
Yes, you are welcome to leave your car overnight at your own risk. The gates will be locked overnight and will re-open for the collection of your car from 8am.
Taxis will drop off and pick up at our Entrance Marquee (number 13 on the Course Overview). This is also the drop off and pick up area for all other vehicles.

We recommend pre-booking taxis before you arrive at Towcester Racecourse.

We have telephones for you to call the taxi firm direct in the bar area or reception.

Yes, we have a disabled car parking area. Please show your blue badge and our car parking marshals will be happy to direct you. There is wheelchair access to the enclosures, and both grandstands have a lift. Disabled toilets can be found of the ground floor of both grandstands and the first floor of the Empress Stand, and there is a viewing platform at the front of the Grace & Empress Stands, overlooking the course.
In the restaurant and VIP box hospitality areas are coat racks where you are welcome to leave your coats free of charge at your own risk.
Out door seating has no covering and cannot be reserved. We can only reserve areas in the bar if certain packages are purchased.
You can bet with Tote on the ground floor, first floor and second floor of the Empress Stand.

We also have Towcester Bet and on-course independent bookmakers. In the restaurant you have betting facilities to your table.

The minimum you can bet with Tote is £2, with Towcester Bet the minimum is 50p.

Guests attending the course are asked to dress smart casual if dining in one of the restaurants. Tailored shorts can be worn only in summer months (not cut-offs). We advise you to wear a jacket as it may be necessary for the balcony.

No ripped jeans.
No trainers.
No shorts.
No flip flops.

General public are asked to dress appropriately and gentlemen are required to wear a shirt or top at all times even in hot weather.

Yes, there is free WiFi and login details are displayed in the bar area. Simply login via the welcoming page in your browser.
Yes, however no flash should be used.

We have greyhound racing every Tuesday and Saturday. The dogs race every 15 minutes.

Our horse races occur 10 times per year. On the day, the horses race every 25-30 minutes.

You can have this service as part of the Birthday Celebration Package which can be found on our Promotions page. Or, you can have just the message on its own for £15. We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to implement this. Please email hospitalityadmin@towcester-racecourse.co.uk with your big screen message and we can then implement this on the evening.
You can do this as part of a pre-bought package if you sponsor a race. Please see our Sponsors page for more details.

There is a cash machine located within the Empress Bar Bar 4000 (Ground Floor of the Empress Stand), which is available on race days only. Please note the machine charges for use.
90% of our meetings are free admission but please check our fixtures page for this information.
Yes. Tickets are available for any charged race meeting in advance via DigiTickets. The link to these will be on our Restaurant & Hospitality page closer to the event day.
Race programmes are available to purchase on the day: at horse racing meetings the programme costs £3 each, greyhound programmes cost £2.50 each.
This is entirely up to the individual. The staff will be pleased to advise you about forecasts and reverse forecasts etc
We recommend purchasing a racecard as all racing information and upcoming events are detailed within this programme.
